Description

A hummingbird of high western mountains, breeding in the Davis Mountains of West Texas. The male's wings produce a distinctive metallic trill in flight, and his rose-magenta throat flares in the thin mountain air above wildflower meadows.

Found this little gem while visiting a friend's property in the Davis Mountains Reserve. They have plenty of feeders for the hummingbirds and other feathered friends to enjoy feeding and resting high in the mountains.
